Trail

Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, VA: 1: 22 Aug, 2009 (24 miles)

This is my first attempt to bike the Skyline Drive. I went with my friend Fernando. There is some element of adventure whenever Fernando is around. This time it was the rain. It poured. We were drenched. The scariest part was biking downhill at 30mph with the rain beating down. We could barely see anything and when raindrops hit you at 30mph they do not deserve the soft and cute little tune 'Rain drops on roses...', it is more like facial accupuncture. I am glad we turned around at 12.5 miles. The situation was getting worse. At that altitude of 2800 feet the temperature had dropped considerably. It was another great adventure with Fernando.
