Trail

This is a nice 11 mile round trip starting from Ballston at dawn when the there is little traffic along Glebe Rd. I must have headed north on Glebe until Woodstock then took the inner roads, via Donaldson run trail to Military Rd. About a mile north on Military Rd. brings you to the Gulf Branch trail that takes you right down to the Potomac Heritage trail. I then headed South to Key Bridge. This part of the trail is lovely. The rains had poured earlier so the trail was slushy and at parts it was difficult to traverse as the river hadn't subsided and the trail was submerged. I made to Key Bridge and then took Wilson Blvd. and back to Ballston.
