Trail

This is a fun 25 mile round trip. At around the 11 miles you are in Old Town Alexandria where you can stop for an ice cream, coffiee or lunch. At around 14 miles you have Cold stone creamery, an ice-cream shop. If you are tired you can hop on the Metro at Eisenhower Metro station just across from the ice-cream shop. If you are willing to brave the remaining 11 miles back it is worth the risk. You will be biking along a stream where you will invariably see a few herons; blue or white. Avoid taking this path if it has rained the day before, there are a few stretches where it can be flooded. Its fun to bike under railway bridges, through tunnels and along side streams.
