Hiking at Victoria Lock CNO Canal MD, Jan 21, 2012, 5 miles: 22 Jan, 2012 (5 miles)
The temperature was in the upper 20s, cold for DC. We had to get out and feel the cold air, so we drove up to Victoria Lock on the CNO canal and hiked about 2.5 miles south. Despite being cold we encountered a large number of blue herons, one kingfisher, 2 woodpeckers and several cardinals. They seem to love DC :) Slideshow coming soon.
