Hiking the ruins of Pompeii, 19 December, 2010 (6 miles; 4 miles recorded): 19 Dec, 2010 (4 miles)
Taking the Circumvesuviana from Napoli Circumvesuviana station we got off at Pompeii. A 2 minute walk to the ruins and you enter into another world! The most delightful of all sites is the Villa dei Misteri and the amphitheater. We waddled through each building, listening to the audio guide. Most of the artifacts are preserved in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli; which is must see. I remembered to switch on my GPS while in the Villa dei Misteri and caught the last 4 miles of the walk.
